Job Requirements

  • high school or equivalent education required
  • bachelor’s degree preferred
  • prior sales and marketing experience preferred
  • prior administrative experience preferred
  • ability to provide and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • must be able to travel occasionally

Job Duties

  • works with area director of sales in identifying top accounts of each stakeholder hotel, identify key buyers within each account, and coordinate efforts to drive demand and business
  • identifies share shift targets within the business transient segment and creates sales actions to shift those accounts
  • negotiates yearly special corporate negotiated rates to drive revenue growth
  • solicits potential new accounts using competitor intelligence software and internal referral mechanisms
  • drives customer satisfaction through daily interactions, building rapport, and hosting hotel appreciation events
  • conducts customer-facing sales activities including lunch and learns, social hours, local industry events, and site inspections
  • maintains complete and up-to-date lead information and verifies accurate reporting
  • uses information systems to research and analyze accounts
  • understands market trends, competitor strengths, and economic conditions to sell effectively
  • communicates market trends and opportunities to appropriate parties
  • utilizes company marketing initiatives to convert cold leads to warm leads
  • tracks weekly activities related to revenue and room night production
  • sets day-to-day priorities to complete responsibilities
  • participates in sales strategy meetings and adjusts to workload variations
  • activates local tactics to meet buyer needs and communicates best practices
  • performs other duties as assigned
  • leverages Marriott account resources to drive business and grow account share
  • participates in community and hotel networking events
  • visits neighborhood target and local small business accounts and coordinates follow-up
  • supports company's service strategy to drive customer loyalty
  • works closely with hotel operations teams to understand traveler needs
