Job Requirements

  • master's degree in business administration (MBA)
  • valid National Restaurant Association ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certificate
  • previous college teaching experience in business, entrepreneurship, and culinary management
  • at least 10 years experience as a small business owner in the food service industry
  • experience in curriculum development and assessment mapping at the college level
  • practical work experience in business, leadership, management operations, food service, small business ownership, and human resources

Job Qualifications

  • master's degree in business administration (MBA) from an accredited university
  • valid National Restaurant Association ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certificate
  • previous college teaching experience in face-to-face and online modalities in business, entrepreneurship, and culinary management
  • experience as a small business owner in the food service industry for at least 10 years
  • experience in curriculum development and assessment mapping at the college level
  • practical work experience in business, leadership, management operations, food service, small business ownership, and human resources
  • passion for teaching and mentoring
  • skills in communication, organization, team building, and collaboration
  • preferred: master’s degree in education (M.Ed.)
  • Quality Matters online certification
  • proficiency in Brightspace D2L LMS
  • bilingual in Spanish and English or other languages

Job Duties

  • respond to student questions and be available for student support
  • use appropriate technology to enhance learning
  • assess learning outcomes and adapt curriculum to meet learning objectives
  • demonstrate insight and encouragement in working with diverse student populations
  • provide appropriate academic advising to students to support timely degree completion
  • be innovative in the presentation of lectures and hands-on learning activities
  • provide timely feedback on students' assignments and exams
