Job Requirements

  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays
  • Ability to comprehend simple instructions and memos
  • Ability to communicate in English with customers and employees
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, grasp or handle objects, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear
  • Frequent ability to stoop, bend, or crouch
  • Occasional ability to carry and use mop, buckets, brooms, and ladders up to 15 feet
  • Must follow safety precautions
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other bussers and staff

Job Qualifications

  • No prior experience required
  • Previous busser experience is a plus
  • Ability to comprehend simple instructions in English
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff
  • Ability to apply common sense to complete tasks
  • Ability to work efficiently and maintain cleanliness
  • Willingness to accept direction from management and coworkers
  • Physical stamina to perform duties including standing, walking, bending, and lifting

Job Duties

  • Works with a sense of urgency
  • Cleans tables as customers leave, wiping off tables, chairs, or booths, and arranging condiments
  • Greets customers after seating and sets up silverware, napkin, water, and coffee
  • Inspects silverware and glassware before serving
  • Brings bus pans and dishes to and from dish room
  • Restocks service stations with plates, silverware, glasses, and other items
  • Circulates dining room to pour water for customers
  • Provides high chairs or booster seats when requested
  • Washes dishes when dishwasher is on break
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of front-of-house areas including tables, chairs, floors, and restrooms
  • Performs ongoing and end-of-shift cleanup duties including lobby, parking lot, dining room, bathrooms, service area, stockroom, coolers, and garbage disposal
  • Conducts special cleaning tasks such as cleaning walls, ceilings, baseboards, and dusting lamps
  • Follows safety precautions to prevent injury
  • Accepts direction from management and kitchen staff
  • Performs additional duties like squeezing orange juice, whipping butter, and checking restrooms
