  • AZ DPS fingerprint clearance card
  • Valid ADOT commercial driver’s license
  • Must meet minimum age of 21 for CDL testing
  • CPR certificate renewal
  • First aid certificate renewal
  • Pass random drug and alcohol testing
  • Pass criminal justice fingerprint and background clearance
  • Pass pre-placement physical capacities test

Job Qualifications

  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
  • Minimum age of 21 for CDL testing
  • Experience in bus or passenger transport preferred
  • Ability to administer first aid
  • Knowledge of emergency evacuation techniques
  • Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance
  • Understanding of safety practices and regulations
  • Ability to operate two-way radio and standard office equipment
  • Strong record keeping and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills

Job Duties

  • Advise students and passengers on appropriate behavior for safety
  • Assess incidents, complaints, and emergencies and recommend resolutions
  • Assist students with safe loading and unloading during transport and emergencies
  • Attend meetings, training, and workshops for job performance
  • Clean vehicles inside and out to maintain safety and sanitation
  • Conduct emergency evacuation drills to ensure compliance
  • Drive buses on scheduled routes and field trips safely and timely
  • Fuel and perform basic vehicle maintenance to ensure operation
  • Inform school personnel and parents of transportation events and policies
  • Monitor and train passengers to maintain safe transit
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Prepare reports including incident, inspection, and mileage logs
  • Report observations and incidents to appropriate personnel
  • Respond to inquiries from students, parents, and staff regarding transportation
  • Wear proper attire according to district dress code
