Job Requirements
- Must be 19 years of age or older
- high school diploma or GED
- possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license at time of application
- three years of driving experience
- submit driving record from previous state if residing in California less than three years
- able to lift up to 50 pounds
- able to operate a motor vehicle
- able to perform tasks involving manual dexterity
- able to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
- pass pre-employment physical
- pass drug screen
- pass background check
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- ability to back buses into marked spaces
- ability to use all required cleaning instruments and components
- ability to read, write and understand oral and written instructions in English
- knowledge of or ability to learn MTS policies and regulations
- ability to speak clearly and effectively in person-to-person or small group situations using tact and diplomacy
- janitorial and cleaning experience preferred
- valid California driver’s license
- ability to obtain Class B California license
Job Duties
- Scrub exteriors of buses
- clean interiors including walls, seats, and windows
- sweep and mop bus floors
- spray for insects as required
- park buses in assigned locations
- ensure shops are clean using solvent cleaners
- empty waste baskets and trash barrels
- clean lavatories and replenish paper products
- remove litter from yard areas
- maintain written record of bus mileage and cleaning record
- perform other duties as assigned
