Job Requirements

  • Must be 19 years of age or older to serve alcohol
  • Knowledge of preparation and service of various food and alcoholic beverages
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate cash register and perform financial calculations
  • Basic English writing skills for completion of requisitions and reports
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to use knife and mix drinks
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to memorize and promote menu items
  • Ability to operate keyboard and point of sale procedures
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
  • Previous bartending experience required
  • Ability to obtain Alcohol Awareness certification and required licenses
  • Bartending certificate preferred

Job Duties

  • Train bartenders on proper etiquette and techniques when executing beverage orders
  • Maintain proper bar set-up on a daily basis
  • Oversee stocking, cutting and storage of all fresh garnishes, juices, and other perishables to ensure freshness
  • Provide courteous and friendly service to all guests in the bar and lounge area
  • Serve food and beverage items to guests in the restaurant and hotel outlets as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of bar and guest areas throughout shift
  • Use point of sale system to enter all guest orders and ensure accurate billing
  • Receive payment from guests in cash, credit card, or room charge and make change as needed
  • Lock up and store all food, beverage, and other equipment
  • Maintain proper balance of house bank, deposit cash drops, and secure bank
  • Adhere to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations
  • Assist with counts, inventories, and maintenance of pars
  • Complete end of day sales and tip allocation reports
  • Assist security with disorderly guests as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
