Job Requirements
- High school education or GED preferred
- 1 year experience in janitorial and building maintenance
- Ability to obtain ISSA Basic Certified Custodial Technician certification within 6 months
- Valid Colorado driver’s license and safe driving record
- Pass Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background check prior to start date
- Ability to work day or night shifts
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to chemicals and varying weather conditions
Job Qualifications
- High school education or GED preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in janitorial and building maintenance
- ISSA Basic Certified Custodial Technician certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Valid Colorado driver’s license
- Ability to pass Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background check
- Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment maintenance
- Basic mechanical skills to operate floor buffing and cleaning machinery
- Basic communication skills to interact with coworkers, citizens, and contractors
- Ability to work flexible shifts including day and night
- Capable of performing physical tasks in various conditions
Job Duties
- Performs general cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing furniture
- Empties trash containers and picks up debris
- Washes glass surfaces including windows, doors, and desktops
- Operates floor buffer, auto scrubber, vacuum, and carpet cleaning equipment
- Informs supervisor of hazardous and unsafe conditions
- Sets up City facilities for meetings including tables, chairs, and audio/visual equipment
- Uses City vehicles to pick up/drop off supplies and run errands
- Ensures building security by checking doors and the building each night
- Dusts air conditioning and heating vents
- Conducts facility inspections with supervisor
- Replaces soap and paper products as needed
- Responds to bloodborne cleanup calls
- Responds to emergency cleanup calls
- Cleans and sanitizes locker rooms, showers, restrooms, sinks, counters, urinals, and toilets
- Performs additional related duties as assigned
- Responds to requests such as hanging pictures, moving furniture, or replacing light bulbs
- Shovels snow and applies ice-melt to City walkways and corridors
