Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience overseeing at least ten employees
- ability to prioritize personnel needs and work tasks
- ability to maintain calm in stressful situations
- ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently
- evidence of meeting employer expectations
- willingness and ability to be designated as Essential Personnel
- ability to follow instructions and assemble information accurately
- strong communication skills
- knowledge of building security methods and procedures
Job Qualifications
- At least two years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in building maintenance including custodial services
- knowledge of safety precautions and procedures in building maintenance
- knowledge of equipment, materials, and methods used in custodial work
- knowledge of proper use of cleaning supplies and hand tools
- mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
- ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints, and specifications
- ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships
- ability to supervise, including planning, assigning work, motivating personnel, and conducting performance evaluations
- current valid driver’s license
- strong computer skills including email, Word, and Excel
- experience mentoring and coaching staff
Job Duties
- Supervise maintenance and repair of state buildings
- supervise building cleaning functions including floor waxing, window washing, and restroom upkeep
- plan, schedule, and assign maintenance work to staff and contractors
- conduct inspection tours to ensure security, safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
- requisition, receive, store, and issue supplies and equipment
- maintain work records and prepare reports
- build effective partnerships with co-workers and promote excellent customer service
