Job Requirements
- Six months experience in custodial, hospitality, environmental services, warehouse, production or facilities maintenance
- Ability to follow verbal instructions and basic work orders
- Basic reading skills to understand work materials
- Reliable means of communication outside work
- Stable work history with strong attendance
- Ability to walk 3 to 5 miles daily
- Valid Class C driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to provide current driving record
- Willingness to obtain a Texas driver’s license within 30 days if relocating
- Availability to work weekend nights including UT holidays
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Use of personal protective equipment and safety footwear
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Six months or more experience in custodial, hospitality, environmental services, or facilities maintenance preferred
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and peers
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Experience working in busy environments
- Ability and willingness to be an effective team member
- Experience using commercial custodial equipment
Job Duties
- Unlock and lock exterior doors and classrooms according to schedule and key control procedures
- Perform general cleaning in all university facilities following prescribed procedures
- Service and restock restrooms
- Respond to custodial requests and emergencies
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Use custodial equipment such as backpack and wet-dry vacuums
- Perform event setup and cleanup including linen pickup
- Provide emergency response and cleanup for floods and other emergencies
- Perform other duties as assigned
