Job Requirements

  • Six months of experience in custodial maintenance work
  • Class "C" operator's driver’s license
  • Provide current three-year driving record
  • Obtain Texas driver’s license within 30 days if not a Texas resident
  • Ability to work all weather conditions including extreme temperatures
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and emergency shifts
  • Adherence to safety and security procedures
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders
  • Carry UT ID at all times during work hours

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduation or GED
  • More than one year custodial experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures and safety practices
  • Ability to use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and training
  • Class "C" operator's driver’s license required

Job Duties

  • Perform general cleaning of assigned buildings including public spaces and restrooms
  • Adhere to prescribed cleaning procedures and use specified equipment
  • Maintain assigned work schedule and willingly accept work assignments including overtime and emergency response
  • Follow all safety guidelines and regularly use personal protective equipment
  • Secure buildings and rooms after cleaning following proper unlocking, locking, and alarm procedures
  • Provide on-duty cleaning and event support including set up of table linens and items for special events
  • Respond promptly to emergencies such as flood clean-ups
  • Report repairs and other related maintenance needs
  • Fill in for absent coworkers as requested
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
