Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • possession of a valid and appropriate Driver License
  • maintain a satisfactory driving record and meet City liability requirements to drive for City business
  • completion of a background investigation to the satisfaction of the City
  • meet physical requirements including mobility, balance, coordination, vision, hearing and dexterity appropriate to the duties
  • reasonable accommodation(s) for qualified disabilities will be considered on a case-by-case basis

Job Qualifications

  • Six months of light custodial experience
  • strong customer service orientation
  • motivated with a positive can-do attitude
  • team player with good communication skills
  • detail and solution oriented
  • Spanish-speaking skills highly desirable

Job Duties

  • Performing general cleaning and light custodial functions in assigned City buildings
  • cleaning restrooms
  • refilling soap and paper dispensers
  • emptying and cleaning waste containers regularly
  • locking and unlocking doors to ensure building security
  • activating and deactivating alarms
  • checking for and reporting fire and safety hazards
  • reporting graffiti
  • setting up tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings and special events
  • monitoring safe use of City facilities and equipment
  • upholding organizational values and providing strong customer service
  • performing related projects and duties as assigned
