Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to perform physical labor including lifting, bending, and standing
- availability to work 19 hours per week
- basic understanding of safety and security protocols
- ability to follow written and oral instructions
- reliable and punctual
- excellent customer service orientation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred
- ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
- strong communication and customer service skills
- basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Spanish speaking skills highly desirable
Job Duties
- Performing general cleaning and light custodial functions in the upkeep of assigned areas in City buildings
- cleaning restrooms
- refilling soap and paper dispensers
- emptying and cleaning waste containers regularly
- locking and unlocking doors to ensure security of buildings and related areas
- activating or deactivating alarms
- checking for and reporting fire and safety hazards
- reporting graffiti
- setting up tables, chairs, and other equipment for meetings and special events
- monitoring safe use of City facilities and equipment
- performing other related projects and duties as assigned
