Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five years experience in similar position
  • Must obtain TABC and Food Handlers Certification prior to work
  • Must be reliable and responsible
  • Ability to read, listen, and communicate in English verbally and in writing
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to operate kitchen appliances such as stoves, ovens, mixers
  • Knowledge of accepted sanitation standards
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to work within extreme temperature ranges

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Valid TABC certification
  • Food Handlers Certification

  • Basic math skills to understand measurements, requisition amounts, and portion sizes
  • Ability to operate kitchen appliances such as stoves, ovens, and mixers
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • Receive orders from restaurant servers and prepare the order following Executive Chef's instructions
  • Maintain appropriate sanitation of the buffet line per health department and Moody Gardens standards
  • Assist in preparation for buffet service and operation of buffet line
  • Check all coolers at beginning and end of shift to ensure proper temperature
  • Handle fresh seafood carefully and maintain constant icing
  • Maintain cleanliness of the buffet line at all times
  • Check banquet function sheet every morning and set the line for the next day
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages to Executive Chef
  • Follow recipes strictly at all times
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management
