Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five years experience in similar position
- Must obtain TABC and Food Handlers Certification prior to work
- Must be reliable and responsible
- Ability to read, listen, and communicate in English verbally and in writing
- Basic math skills
- Ability to operate kitchen appliances such as stoves, ovens, mixers
- Knowledge of accepted sanitation standards
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to work within extreme temperature ranges
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five years prior experience in a similar position
- Valid TABC certification
- Food Handlers Certification
- Ability to read, listen, and communicate in English verbally and in writing
- Basic math skills to understand measurements, requisition amounts, and portion sizes
- Ability to operate kitchen appliances such as stoves, ovens, and mixers
- Knowledge of sanitation standards
Job Duties
- Receive orders from restaurant servers and prepare the order following Executive Chef's instructions
- Maintain appropriate sanitation of the buffet line per health department and Moody Gardens standards
- Assist in preparation for buffet service and operation of buffet line
- Check all coolers at beginning and end of shift to ensure proper temperature
- Handle fresh seafood carefully and maintain constant icing
- Maintain cleanliness of the buffet line at all times
- Check banquet function sheet every morning and set the line for the next day
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to Executive Chef
- Follow recipes strictly at all times
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management
