Job Requirements

  • Minimum 16 years of age (State Minor Labor Laws supersede)
  • Prior experience in restaurant or customer service role preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and hospitality skills
  • Knowledge of proper sanitation, food safety, and security procedures
  • Familiarity with BWW food and beverage menus and ability to make suggestions
  • Knowledge of current marketing promotions and upcoming events
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and stay organized
  • Capable of taking direction and working as part of a team
  • Basic mathematical skills and ability to handle money accurately
  • Familiarity with Point of Sales (POS) systems
  • Conflict management and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of common restaurant practices and procedures

Job Duties

  • Provide friendly welcome to incoming guests by opening by opening the door and ensuring timely seating
  • Manage seating waitlist, seat guests in appropriate area to ensure they are comfortable and that a particular server does not have too many tables and monitor workflow
  • Accurately communicate waiting times to guests and maintain constant communication to ensure they updated in regards to their seating status and escort guests to tables
  • Notify guests of specials and promotions and that their server will be with them promptly
  • Assist with the assembling of takeout orders and answer telephones when necessary
  • Assist servers with running food, bussing tables, and refilling drinks but does not serve alcohol if under age 21
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of host station, ensuring all menus are properly stocked and clean, restock supplies as necessary
  • Respond to customer complaints and bring any issues to the attention of the manager
  • Thank guests as the leave and solicit feedback about the quality of service of they experienced, express hope that they will return to BWW in the future
