Job Requirements
- Minimum 5 years relevant culinary experience
- Minimum 2 years broiler cooking experience
- Prior experience sautéing, broiling, and fry cooking
- Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment
- Basic math skills
- Highly motivated and focused on quality
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Service and detail oriented
- Working knowledge of sanitation standards
- Manual dexterity and knife skills
- Ability to stand and lift up to 70 pounds
- Flexible schedule including holidays and weekends
- Reside within 50 miles of the hotel
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years relevant culinary experience, preferably in a high-volume fine dining restaurant
- Minimum 2 years broiler cooking experience in a steakhouse atmosphere
- Prior experience sautéing, broiling, and fry cooking
- Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment including deep fryer, broiler, stove, and grill
- Prior kitchen supervisory experience preferred
- Culinary degree or formal training preferred
- Basic math skills for implementing recipes and measurements
- Highly motivated self-starter focused on quality, organization, and teamwork
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Service and detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to produce high volumes of work while maintaining quality
- Working knowledge of sanitation standards
- Advanced knife skills and manual dexterity
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Flexible schedule availability including holidays, weekends, and evenings
- Must live within 50 miles of the hotel
Job Duties
- Prepare all items on prep list following standard operating procedure or as instructed by manager
- Work closely with wait staff to exceed guest expectations
- Supervise daily food preparation for assigned areas
- Train and develop kitchen staff
- Prep, stock, and rotate line to ensure ample supply of products
- Inspect all food products for quality
- Check portion control, weights, and counts prior to function
- Fire all food for service and serve on line
- Maintain and check cooking times and temperatures
- Follow all storage procedures when handling food
- Maintain cleanliness of work area at all times
- Keep walk-in, prep area, and equipment compliant with Health Department and EcoSure standards
- Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and portion standards
- Date and rotate all food containers per Omni standards
- Check pars for shift use, note any shortages
- Return all unused food items to designated storage properly
- Cooperate with other cooks on events or special meal requirements
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by management
