Job Requirements

  • Completion of a four-year college degree program or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One to three years of related experience in food service practices and customer relations
  • Supervisory and managerial experience
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures
  • Familiarity with food preparation equipment
  • Accounting skills
  • Availability to work variable hours including weekends
  • Ability to work during emergency closures or modifications

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in hotel restaurant and institutions management, business administration, dietetics, food systems and economics management, nutrition, or related field
  • One to three years of progressively responsible experience in food service, customer relations, and supervisory roles
  • Familiarity with food preparation equipment
  • Strong knowledge of sanitation and safety standards
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Experience in banquet coordination and event planning is desirable

Job Duties

  • Direct food service staff in preparation and service of food
  • Monitor daily food production and presentation to ensure meal quality
  • Implement training programs for support staff
  • Receive and resolve customer concerns and suggestions
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Coordinate food service operations within the residence hall
  • Assist in banquet coordination and special event setups
