Job Requirements
- Education equivalent to a four-year college degree program in relevant fields
- One to three years of related progressively responsible experience
- Experience in customer relations and food service practices
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures
- Familiarity with food preparation equipment
- Accounting skills
- Supervisory and managerial experience
- Willingness to work during university closures or emergency conditions as needed
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge equivalent to a four-year degree in Hotel Restaurant and Institutions Management, Business Administration, Dietetics, Food Systems and Economics Management, or Nutrition
- One to three years of progressively responsible experience in customer relations, food service practices, sanitation, and safety
- Familiarity with food preparation equipment
- Supervisory and managerial experience
- Experience in food handling, ordering, inventory control, banquet coordination, and planning special events
Job Duties
- Direct the food service staff in preparation and service of food in a residence hall serving unit
- Work with Food Service Supervisor for ordering and inventory management
- Monitor daily food production and presentation to ensure compliance with menus, recipes, and quality standards
- Implement training programs for support staff
- Receive and resolve customer concerns or suggestions
- Ensure adherence to sanitation and safety procedures
- Coordinate with banquet and special event planning as needed
