Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required
  • one to three months related experience and/or training
  • six months previous kitchen worker experience required
  • safe food handler certification preferred
  • available to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Setup of buffet every morning
  • operate the dishwasher
  • load dirty dishes and unload and store clean dishes
  • clean and maintain buffet line always stocked
  • control quality and consistency of all food served
  • ensure that station or relevant prep list is set in a timely manner
  • prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, food preparation checklist and number of covers to be served
  • demonstrate safe and competent use of all tools such as knives, pots, pans, stoves, ovens, steamers
  • always keep work area clean
  • lift bus tubs to bus carts and push carts to the kitchen
  • clean food serving areas including counters, utensils, and food trays
  • maintain proper sanitation according to health department and stewarding standards
  • maintain cleanliness of kitchen through serving periods and after closing
  • perform additional duties and projects as assigned
