Job Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent
- Culinary certification is a plus
- Minimum 1 year experience food prepping or cooking in a fine dining restaurant
Job Qualifications
- Excellent customer service and hospitality skills
- Excellent oral & written communication skills, attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and with composure
- Knowledge of food preparation and storage, sanitation requirements and commercial kitchen equipment
- Ability to work interdepartmentally, with Restaurant, Kitchen, Spa and other Farmhouse teams
- Maintain regular attendance, is consistently on time and complies with Farmhouse Inn standards
- Scheduling flexibility to meet operational needs, weekend and holiday availability (Sundays are mandatory)
- Please note that our restaurant is closed for dinner on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
Job Duties
- Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, daily specials, and any menu or service changes
- Follow every order to guarantee the guest is receiving what they ordered and special preparations and/or dietary restrictions are being taken into consideration
- Prepare meals with quality ingredients using various methods such as slicing, carving, roasting, frying, steaming, marinating etc.
- Ensure that meals come out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Adhere to Farmhouse Inn standards of quality, based on Executive, Estate, or Sous Chef's training on quality and presentation
- Cooperate with kitchen and food & beverage team members to provide smooth service
- Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures- maintain current California Food Handlers Card
- Clean all work surfaces and stations after regular service is complete
- Stock inventory as appropriate and assess workstation before each shift to ensure station is ready for dinner service
