Job Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Culinary certification is a plus
  • Minimum 1 year experience food prepping or cooking in a fine dining restaurant

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service and hospitality skills
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills, attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and with composure
  • Knowledge of food preparation and storage, sanitation requirements and commercial kitchen equipment
  • Ability to work interdepartmentally, with Restaurant, Kitchen, Spa and other Farmhouse teams
  • Maintain regular attendance, is consistently on time and complies with Farmhouse Inn standards
  • Scheduling flexibility to meet operational needs, weekend and holiday availability (Sundays are mandatory)
  • Please note that our restaurant is closed for dinner on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Job Duties

  • Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, daily specials, and any menu or service changes
  • Follow every order to guarantee the guest is receiving what they ordered and special preparations and/or dietary restrictions are being taken into consideration
  • Prepare meals with quality ingredients using various methods such as slicing, carving, roasting, frying, steaming, marinating etc.
  • Ensure that meals come out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Adhere to Farmhouse Inn standards of quality, based on Executive, Estate, or Sous Chef's training on quality and presentation
  • Cooperate with kitchen and food & beverage team members to provide smooth service
  • Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures- maintain current California Food Handlers Card
  • Clean all work surfaces and stations after regular service is complete
  • Stock inventory as appropriate and assess workstation before each shift to ensure station is ready for dinner service
