Job Requirements

  • Ability to perform job function with attention to detail speed and accuracy
  • Willingness and ability to work varied schedules including evenings nights weekends and holidays
  • Must meet legal age requirements to serve alcoholic beverages and pass responsible serving course such as TIPs
  • Ability to obtain and provide Food Handlers card as required by city county or state
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Understanding of hotel products and guest services
  • Demonstrates patience tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers and staff
  • Willingness to learn new tasks provide backup and support to other team members and respond positively to guests and co workers

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in a hotel or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service standards
  • Basic numerical ability including addition subtraction multiplication and division
  • Ability to read comprehend and write simple instructions
  • Professional communication skills when interacting with guests and team members
  • Positive attitude and desire to provide excellent service
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive friendly courteous and service oriented manner
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and grooming including proper uniform and name tag
  • Greet and seat guests at appropriate tables in a timely manner
  • Ensure quality control of menus regarding cleanliness and appearance
  • Clear clean and reset tables/hotel spaces per client request or management instruction
  • Ensure all service areas are stocked organized clean and neat and complete side work each shift
  • Accommodate special guest requests and offer appropriate alternatives when necessary
  • Communicate with all departments regarding in house VIPs
  • Support beverage and food service including washing dishes and restocking
  • Carry out cashiering functions including closing checks and end of shift paperwork
  • Perform opening and closing procedures and side work duties
  • Answer questions about hotel standards guest expectations local attractions
  • Produce high quality drinks including specialty coffee tea and cocktails
  • Attend meetings and perform other duties as requested by management
