Job Requirements
- Minimum lifting and pulling of 50 pounds
- pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity
- standing for long periods of time
- understands the overall functions and machinery in a kitchen
- must be flexible with schedule and adjust to business needs of the hotel
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- experience working in a hotel kitchen or related food service environment beneficial
- strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standards
- ability to supervise kitchen support staff effectively
- knowledge of food preparation techniques including dressings and cold sauces
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work flexible hours
- physical stamina for standing long hours and handling kitchen tasks
Job Duties
- Maintain health and sanitation standards
- cover label and date all food products
- open kitchen and close kitchen in absence of supervisors
- adhere to all prepared written recipes for all menu items including breakfast, room service, Grab and Go, and dinner menus
- report out of stock items to the supervisor
- prepare for the next shift, and ensure there is inventory
- help set-up restaurant and employee cafeteria buffet
- supervise and assist dishwashers and pantry personnel
- perform the duties of the Prep List schedule
- prepare all dressings and cold sauces
- assist with banquet preparation, as needed
