Job Requirements

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • minimum of 3 years cooking experience preferred
  • preferred experience with broiler cooking
  • basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations
  • understanding of service standards and guest relations
  • good working knowledge of broiler cooking fundamentals
  • good working knowledge of sauté cooking fundamentals
  • knowledge of sanitation standards
  • ability to operate all kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, and kettles
  • basic math skills for recipes, measurements, and portion sizes
  • basic English language skills for communication and instructions
  • ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions
  • ability to operate beverage equipment like coffee makers
  • ability to grasp, lift, carry, or move items weighing up to 100 lbs
  • sufficient manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment such as knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, and slicers
  • ability to perform duties in extreme temperature ranges and confined spaces
  • ability to frequently twist, bend, stoop, reach, stand, walk, talk, hear, see and smile

Job Duties

  • Prepares daily preparation lists for production
  • reads and employs math skills to follow recipes
  • prepares all broiled and sautéed food items according to standard recipes and guest specifications to ensure product consistency
  • visually inspects, selects, and uses only food items of the highest standard
  • checks and controls proper storage of products including portion control
  • keeps refrigeration, equipment, storage, and work areas clean and compliant with health regulations
  • maintains logs for cooling, heating, and temperature
  • adheres to company policies and procedures
  • follows safety and security rules and emergency procedures
  • utilizes protective equipment
  • reports unsafe conditions and incidents to management
  • maintains neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
  • performs any related duties as requested by management
  • assists other kitchen personnel when needed
