Job Requirements

  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service to customers and team members

  • Must follow written and verbal instructions from Bakery Manager and store management
  • Must demonstrate manual dexterity with mixers, slicers, ovens and other potentially hazardous equipment

  • Must complete tasks in a safe manner and remain alert
  • Must cooperate with management, coworkers, customers and the public

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience baking or cooking in a restaurant, bakery or catering environment preferred
  • Experience working in retail or customer service oriented environment preferred
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Manual dexterity with bakery equipment
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays and overtime
  • Ability to work under stress and maintain composure
  • Commitment to integrity, honesty and ethical behavior
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance

Job Duties

  • Adheres to Earth Fare vision, standard operating procedures and merchandising guidelines
  • Maintains a positive and professional work environment
  • Responsible for baking muffins, cookies, Danishes and croissants
  • Monitors Bakery Manager Production Level list to fulfill production requirements
  • Sets and maintains baked goods cases with proper product, signage and rotation for freshness
  • Provides excellent customer service at bakery counter and other areas
  • Operates ovens and bakery equipment safely
  • Scoops batter for next day production
  • Packages dry case items and wraps pastry trays to ensure freshness
  • Slices bread for customers as needed
  • Participates in inventory counts and department/store meetings
  • Maintains cleanliness, sanitation and organization of bakery department, fixtures, storage and equipment
  • Implements merchandise displays according to bakery manager guidelines
