Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in traffic control and safety
  • Minimum 10 years of supervisory or management experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to manage budgets and staff
  • Availability for high-demand scheduling including evenings and weekends
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in traffic control and safety, including direct crew work and formal industry training preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of supervisory or management experience preferred
  • Deep understanding of state regulations for traffic control devices and materials
  • Active involvement in industry associations, coalitions, and state DOT collaborations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Financial literacy including understanding of balance sheets and profit and loss statements
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and staff effectively

Job Duties

  • Overseeing branch production, budgeting, and financial performance
  • Managing shop activities, customer relations, and job site operations
  • Coordinating with estimating teams on capacity planning and critical path issues
  • Working with accounting teams on revenue recognition, forecasting, and reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements
  • Overseeing crews and equipment in remote locations to meet customer expectations efficiently
  • Managing project notifications, securing permits, and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Quickly assessing challenges and exercising independent judgment to find effective solutions
  • Developing employee schedules, managing labor needs, and ensuring completion of project paperwork
  • Planning and scheduling projects to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Assessing employee capabilities, contributing to hiring and termination decisions, and ensuring training and development
  • Maintaining oversight of all safety requirements, including DOT and industry compliance standards
  • Being prepared for high-demand scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and emergency needs
  • Requesting necessary materials, managing billing, and maintaining accurate revenue forecasts
  • Traveling as needed for project oversight and branch operations
