Job Requirements
- Ability to move throughout the dining room effectively
- Ability to lift and carry serving trays weighing up to 15lbs and bus tubs weighing up to 40 lbs
- Ability to perform reaching and stooping motions
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in a janitorial or utility porter role preferred but not required
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and carrying cleaning equipment and supplies
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and sanitation
- Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Job Duties
- Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and disinfecting common areas, restrooms, and dining spaces
- Empty trash bins and recycling containers, replace liners, and dispose of waste in a hygienic and environmentally responsible manner
- Monitor and clean restrooms regularly, replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of floors by mopping, waxing, and buffing as necessary
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards and assist in minor repairs or adjustments
- Assist in setting up and breaking down tables, chairs, and equipment for events, meetings, or special occasions
- Stock cleaning supplies, restroom supplies, and other essentials to ensure availability
- Collaborate with the cleaning and maintenance team to ensure efficient operations
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area by emptying trash, cleaning food preparation areas, and ensuring equipment is clean and in good working order
- Sort and stack clean dishes and utensils for easy access by kitchen staff
- Provide support to kitchen staff including helping with food preparation and basic kitchen tasks during busy periods
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards including proper handling of chemicals and cleaning agents
