Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in baking or food preparation preferred but not required
  • ability to follow detailed written instructions
  • good manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • capacity to work early morning or overnight shifts
  • physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • basic knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene practices
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • willing to comply with all safety regulations
  • reliable and punctual work ethic

Job Duties

  • Measure and mix ingredients into dough according to a recipe
  • observe all safety rules and regulations including use of personal protective equipment
  • operate and monitor mixing equipment, scales, and meters according to established standards and procedures
  • ensure all ingredients are set up prior to start of production to aid in efficiency of production
  • accurately weigh and measure ingredients and materials, making manual adjustments if necessary
  • place dough in pans, molds, or on sheets and bake in oven
  • observe products while cooking and adjust controls as needed
  • use exact measurements and pay strict attention to timing
  • load ingredients into mixing machine
  • mix icings and other toppings and decorate the cookies
  • use a variety of kitchen tools including electric mixers, pans, rolling pins, and cutting tools
  • stay organized and focused on work at all times
  • check and ensure quantities being produced match orders and properly store orders
  • be innately creative and communicate ideas to Executive Chef
  • stay alert for signs of ingredient spoilage or substandard quality
  • organize station before leaving workplace including floor bins and grains
  • know all safety buttons and shut offs within work area
  • print all orders from OUTLOOK and add to standing order
