The Boathouse, located at lake level in The Edgewater's historic Langdon Building, offers guests a unique lakeside dining experience in downtown Madison. As the only restaurant directly on Lake Mendota in this area, The Boathouse captures the essence of coastal dining with a menu featuring delightful items such as Mahi fish tacos and Wisconsin favorites including Stella's bun chicken BLT and Clock Shadow cheese curds. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • available to work a minimum of three shifts per week including nights, weekends, and public holidays
  • ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds including beer kegs
  • ability to physically perform duties such as carrying trays, delivering drinks, and moving tables and chairs
  • ability to obtain government required licenses or certificates
  • strong customer service and problem-solving skills
  • ability to work flexible schedules including training shifts before opening date

Job Qualifications

  • At least one year of bartending experience in casual or fine-dining settings
  • experience in food and beverage service within a hotel or resort setting is a plus
  • excellent customer service skills
  • ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently
  • strong knowledge of liquors, beers, and wines
  • effective communication skills with guests, co-workers, and management
  • positive and entrepreneurial attitude

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests
  • maintain accurate bar inventory and cleanliness
  • take correct drink orders and deliver prompt service
  • collaborate with dining room and patio staff for seamless drink delivery
  • ensure compliance with liquor laws and company policies
  • support team members and contribute to a positive work environment
