Job Description

Located at lake level in The Edgewater's historic Langdon Building, The Boathouse offers guests a unique dining experience inspired by coastal vibes. This restaurant is known for its fresh, innovative menu including items such as Mahi fish tacos and local Wisconsin favorites like Stella’s bun chicken BLT and Clock Shadow cheese curds. Positioned as the only restaurant in downtown Madison directly on Lake Mendota, it caters to both local patrons and visitors to the beautiful 4-Star Edgewater hotel. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 or older
  • Must have previous bartending experience of one year or more
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and public holidays
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and management
  • Strong customer service and problem resolution skills
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to carry food trays, deliver drinks, and handle various restaurant items
  • Availability to work a minimum of three shifts per week
  • Self-driven and positive attitude
  • Ability to work well in a team environment

Job Qualifications

  • Previous bartending experience of one year or more in casual or fine-dining settings
  • Experience in food and beverage service within a hotel or resort is a plus
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Knowledge of liquors, beers, and wines
  • Ability to obtain any required government licenses or certificates

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area
  • Manage bar inventory and supplies efficiently
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests at the bar as well as support dining room staff
  • Take and deliver drink orders promptly and correctly
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and standards
