Job Description
The Boathouse is a uniquely positioned restaurant located at lake level in the historic Langdon Building of The Edgewater in downtown Madison, Wisconsin. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Available to work a minimum of three shifts per week with flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to obtain any required government licenses or certificates
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds including beer kegs
- Must be able to operate standard restaurant equipment
- Willingness to work in kitchen areas when necessary
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks regularly
Job Qualifications
- Previous bartending experience of one year or more in casual or fine-dining settings
- Knowledge of liquors, beers, and wines
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
- Positive and caring attitude
- Ability to physically perform job duties including lifting and carrying
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Experience in hotel or resort food and beverage service is a plus
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve drinks to bar and restaurant guests
- Take and process customer orders accurately
- Maintain bar inventory and cleanliness
- Collaborate with dining room and patio staff to ensure efficient service
- Operate point-of-sale systems
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve complaints
- Support team goals and restaurant success
