Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year experience in boat maintenance or related field
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting over 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work indoors, outdoors, and underwater conditions
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and wear protective equipment
  • Must pass background checks and drug screenings
  • Commitment to federal workplace policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of trade practices relevant to boat repairs
  • Ability to safely apply finishing work using hand tools
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Minimum one year sailing and boat maintenance experience preferred
  • Scuba certification preferred
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend for extended periods
  • Capability to work in varied environments including water
  • Ability to handle potentially hazardous materials with safety measures
  • Experience working under supervision of marina manager and senior mechanic

Job Duties

  • Assist higher level mechanic in repairing boats and watercraft equipment
  • Perform preparatory tasks such as sanding and base painting
  • Clean boat components and engine parts
  • Assist in installation of rudders and center boards
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance of watercraft
  • Perform handyman tasks around marina and outdoor recreation facilities
  • Provide information on use of equipment and facilities
  • Operate cash register and handle payments
  • Perform operational checks and maintain rental equipment
  • Transport supplies and materials safely
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in recreation areas
  • Enforce authorized use of facilities and equipment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
