Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year experience in boat maintenance or related field
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting over 50 pounds
- Willingness to work indoors, outdoors, and underwater conditions
- Ability to follow safety protocols and wear protective equipment
- Must pass background checks and drug screenings
- Commitment to federal workplace policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of trade practices relevant to boat repairs
- Ability to safely apply finishing work using hand tools
- Valid driver’s license
- Minimum one year sailing and boat maintenance experience preferred
- Scuba certification preferred
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend for extended periods
- Capability to work in varied environments including water
- Ability to handle potentially hazardous materials with safety measures
- Experience working under supervision of marina manager and senior mechanic
Job Duties
- Assist higher level mechanic in repairing boats and watercraft equipment
- Perform preparatory tasks such as sanding and base painting
- Clean boat components and engine parts
- Assist in installation of rudders and center boards
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance of watercraft
- Perform handyman tasks around marina and outdoor recreation facilities
- Provide information on use of equipment and facilities
- Operate cash register and handle payments
- Perform operational checks and maintain rental equipment
- Transport supplies and materials safely
- Ensure safety procedures are followed
- Maintain cleanliness and order in recreation areas
- Enforce authorized use of facilities and equipment
- Perform additional duties as assigned
