Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalency
- able to lift and carry 50 lbs or more
- able to stand and walk for prolonged periods frequently
- able to push, pull, move, or lift heavy equipment or supplies
- able to perform physical tasks requiring reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, or crouching
- available to work evening shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalency
- housekeeping experience is a plus but not required
- ability to speak, read, and write English to the extent required by the position
- ability to follow infection control protocols and safety procedures
- ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively
Job Duties
- Operate all cleaning equipment used by department for various cleaning or buffing jobs
- move heavy objects such as beds, desks, copy machines, etc
- identify medical waste from regular waste and dispose of both appropriately following hospital regulations
- participate in mandatory educational and in-service programs
- maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental, and infection control standards
- perform general cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, washing, and vacuuming floors thoroughly
- wash walls and ceilings by hand minimizing spills and splashes
- strip and wax floors throughout hospital and outside properties
- wash and disinfect sinks and plumbing thoroughly
- perform related duties as assigned or requested
