Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Ability to lift or carry 50 pounds or more
  • Capacity for frequent prolonged standing or walking
  • Ability to push, pull, move, or lift heavy equipment or supplies
  • Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, or crouching
  • Availability to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts from 3 PM to 11 PM

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English as required by the position
  • Housekeeping experience is a plus but not required
  • Ability to follow detailed cleaning and safety protocols
  • Commitment to participate in educational and in-service programs

Job Duties

  • Operate all cleaning equipment for various cleaning or buffing jobs
  • Move heavy objects such as beds, desks, and copy machines
  • Identify medical waste from regular waste and dispose of both according to hospital regulations
  • Participate in mandatory educational and in-service programs
  • Maintain departmental policies, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards
  • Sweep, mop, wet wash, and vacuum floors thoroughly
  • Wash walls and ceilings by hand with minimal spills
  • Strip and wax floors throughout hospital and outside properties
  • Wash and disinfect sinks and plumbing thoroughly using appropriate agents
  • Perform related duties as assigned or requested
