Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalency
- ability to lift or carry 50 pounds or more
- frequent prolonged standing and walking
- physical ability to push, pull, or move heavy equipment and supplies
- capacity for considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching
- availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- proficiency in English
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalency
- speaks, reads, and writes English to the extent required by the position
- ability to operate cleaning equipment
- knowledge of infection control standards
- experience in housekeeping is a plus but not required
- ability to follow safety and environmental protocols
Job Duties
- Operate all cleaning equipment for various cleaning or buffing jobs
- Move heavy objects such as beds, desks, copy machines
- Identify medical waste from regular waste and dispose of both appropriately following hospital regulations
- Participate in mandatory educational and in-service programs
- Maintain departmental policies and procedures including quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards
- Perform general cleaning tasks in patient rooms such as sweeping, mopping, washing, vacuuming floors
- Strip and wax floors
- Wash and disinfect sinks and plumbing
- Perform related duties as assigned or requested
