Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year prior serving/customer service and bartending experience required
- TIPS or CARE beverage service training and certification or ability to obtain local certification as required by law
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds consistently throughout shift
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry items continuously during shift
- Must speak, understand, and write English
- Must adhere to company grooming and appearance standards
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- One year of prior serving/customer service and bartending experience
- TIPS or CARE beverage service training and certification, or ability to obtain local certifications
- Ability to speak, understand, and write English to meet guest needs and complete paperwork
- Knowledge of local liquor laws and regulations
- Ability to follow health and safety regulations
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Greet all guests in a courteous and friendly manner
- Accurately and quickly take, enter, prepare and deliver guest orders according to standards
- Respond to guest needs and provide the highest level of quality service
- Assist other associates as needed to meet guest’s needs
- Effectively operate micros operating system and cash register
- Follow all CSM/Marriott cash handling/POS procedures to ensure accurate closing of all guest checks
- Answer all questions about menu items, specials, and prices
- Familiar with preparation methods and ingredients to meet guest’s dietary/allergy questions
- Actively up-sell food and beverage items to maximize revenue
- Monitor and replenish stock of prepared menu items
- Prepare all food in a timely manner, and operate the Turbo Chef according to standards
- Brew coffee and prepare coffee/other drinks according to specific recipes
- Assist bartender when necessary with serving alcoholic beverages and follow local liquor laws
- Dispense appropriate levels of alcohol and prepare drinks to recipe and standards
- Properly use all equipment and adhere to cost controls to reduce expenses and waste
- Consistently check guests’ identification and monitor guests consumption of alcoholic beverages to ensure compliance with state and local liquor laws
- Assist Bistro Attendant as needed
- Dispose of garbage, pick up trays, re-stock dishes on the line, and clear/wipe down tables and counters
- Transfer full dish tubs to the dish room and assist as needed with washing dishes
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and timely
- Assist with inventory, complete inventory par sheets, and other tasks as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and handle all food/beverage in compliance with regulations
- Assist in maintaining sanitation and cleanliness of the Bistro, kitchen, and dish room
- Follow all procedures for guest/associate incidents
- Know hotel emergency procedures
- Produce required volume of work by planning, organizing and prioritizing work duties
- Adhere to grooming and appearance standards, and general work rules and department procedures
- Attend all required department and hotel meetings and adhere to attendance policy
- Complete all required side work and take initiative to assist wherever necessary
- Work as a team player and actively contribute to the success of the Bistro experience
- Responsible for set-up, maintenance, and take down of banquet areas according to function specifications
- Provide food and beverage service to clients in business or social functions in a friendly manner
