Job Requirements
- one year of general clerical experience, preferably including some experience in operation of a telephone switchboard with receptionist duties
- must pass the district's bilingual certification test in oral, reading and writing proficiency in Spanish
- recent typing certificate with minimum 35 net wpm must accompany application
- ability to understand and follow both oral and written directions
- ability to effectively and tactfully communicate in both oral and written forms in English and Spanish
- ability to receive incoming calls and route to proper stations
- ability to take telephone messages and distribute to appropriate personnel
- ability to schedule and reserve meeting rooms
- ability to answer questions and provide information regarding school/district office standards, policies and procedures
- criminal history check will be required prior to employment
Job Qualifications
- knowledge and proper usage, spelling, and punctuation of both English and Spanish languages
- use and operation of a telephone switchboard system
- standard office procedures and practices
- word processing techniques
- computer software applications
- ability to type/word process at a minimum rate of 35 net wpm

Job Duties
- operate a telephone switchboard system at a school site or district office
- receive and route telephone calls to appropriate department
- provide information to callers
- greet and direct visitors to appropriate departments or personnel
- provide clerical support to other school district offices as assigned
- interpret orally and translate written material in Spanish
- maintain routine records and files
