Job Requirements

  • High school degree or GED equivalent
  • Three years of customer service experience
  • Two years of sales experience
  • One year of treatment coordinating experience
  • Knowledge of medical terms and practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
  • Excellent problem solving and de-escalation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bilingual fluent in Spanish

Job Duties

  • Consult with patients to understand their oral health history, concerns, and objectives
  • Explain the treatment plan, address patient concerns, and answer any questions
  • Assist the patient in prioritizing the treatment and establish a plan for scheduling and payment arrangements
  • Conduct financial consultations with all new patients and with existing patients when new treatment plans are presented
  • Manage and maintain the payment options and policies for patients
  • Understand the practice's policy on working with Ortho benefit plans and educate patients on their dental benefits
  • Communicate with all outside and third-party financing companies offered to patients and educate patients on the available outside financing options
  • Track patient accounts receivable and outstanding balances to ensure timely payment
  • Assist in Practice's collections protocol for all outstanding balances
  • Introduce new patients to the practice by going over health history, explaining the doctor's examination and describing any other features about the practice that should be highlighted
  • Conduct treatment consultations with all new patients and with existing patients when new treatment plans are presented
  • Update TC Spreadsheet on a daily basis
  • Conduct outbound dialing calls to patients including welcome calls, lost cases, denials
  • Greet and check patients in and out before and after treatment
  • Participate in marketing events
  • Handle cash transactions
  • Answer incoming calls including new patient calls, emergencies, scheduling appointments, requesting records, and follow up
  • Perform all duties when traveling to other clinics
  • Help maintain a clean and sanitized clinic and office area
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
