Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Experience in a receptionist or medical office position
  • HIPAA and EMR training as required
  • Ability to handle sensitive or potentially traumatic information
  • On-site work availability
  • Physical ability to perform routine office tasks including lifting up to 15 pounds
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and appointment scheduling systems

Job Qualifications

  • HIPAA, EMR, and other training required by CRFHC

Job Duties

  • Update demographics, patient forms, insurance, and other aspects of registration in electronic medical record
  • Perform check-in and check-out for patients efficiently
  • Provide all necessary forms to patients upon check-in
  • Perform scanning of records into EMR daily
  • Maintain appointment schedules for providers
  • Complete primary provider request form for insurance updating
  • Maintain competency in the process for immigration physical completion
  • Assist with sliding fee discount application for eligible patients
  • Screen patient phone calls for medical assistants and providers
  • Manage requests from paper and electronic in-baskets
  • Verify patient insurance information
  • Troubleshoot insurance problems with patients
  • Demonstrate proficiency in CHAMPS portal
  • Perform patient callbacks and follow up as directed by providers
  • Occasionally interpret for providers and support staff as needed for patient care
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned by Office Manager and Medical Director
  • Other duties as assigned
