Job Requirements
- Minimum of one year of related experience
- Work from home employees must have wired high speed internet with 25 MB download and 15 MB upload
- Must live within a 60 mile radius of an HCA Hospital
- Ability to answer phone calls professionally
- Comfortable using scheduling modules and software
- Reliable and self-motivated
- High school diploma or equivalent
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of related experience, preferably medical procedure scheduling
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency with scheduling software such as Meditech
- Ability to work independently from a home office
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance policies
Job Duties
- Answer incoming calls in a timely and professional manner
- Schedule all patients for ancillary, surgical and medical testing/procedures through the applicable scheduling module
- Select accurate insurance carrier plans and inform patients or physician office staff of any carrier that is out of network
- Inform physician office staff or patients of testing requirements according to scheduling module instructions
- Ensure edits are performed in the scheduling module
- Ensure physician orders are indexed appropriately
- Maintain knowledge of scheduling reports for the next day to ensure department readiness
- Work closely with physician office staff to ensure pre-cert/authorization numbers are entered in scheduling or registration system
- Select the correct patient medical record number consistently
- Maintain open communication with registration staff about unscheduled patients
- Utilize appropriate communication methods/tools with Patient Access and other facility departments
- Edit medical accounts to appropriate status per standards and guidelines
- Receive, maintain, and index physician orders per standards and guidelines
