Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Associates degree preferred
- Two to three years administrative experience preferably in a medical setting
- Experience working with Latino community preferred
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in English and Spanish
- Knowledge of computer systems including MS Office and ability to navigate web-based applications

Job Duties
- Performs front desk responsibilities such as answering incoming telephone calls and welcoming people entering the clinic
- Transfers calls appropriately and updates patients arrival status in electronic medical records
- Oversees client movement in and out of clinics
- Distributes daily incoming mail and packages and maintains logbook
- Makes reminder calls 48 hours before appointments
- Reschedules canceled or missed appointments within 48 hours
- Updates patient information in the electronic medical records as needed
- Verifies claims completion after each encounter
- Serves as liaison between providers and patients including scheduling appointments and providing referrals
- Assists in specialty referral process and notifies patients of upcoming appointments
- Answers preliminary non-medical questions
- Ensures client intake and eligibility is up-to-date
- Verifies required intake documentation and signatures
- Calculates clients fees and collects payments in cash, check, and credit card
- Enters and posts payments and prepares daily and monthly reports
- Utilizes remote deposits and reconciles all receipts at close of business
- Schedules deposit of cash collected
- Reconciles fees collected per department for manager approval
- Completes cash receipt logs and submits daily reports
- Assists with Maryland Medicaid acceptance and verifies membership
- Creates and sends claims for Maryland Healthy Smiles
- Orients and trains volunteers
- Acts as backup for bilingual administrative assistant
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
