Job Requirements

  • minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • preferred minimum of two years of experience as a receptionist
  • must be able to pass clerical skills tests
  • must have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • must have excellent telephone and interviewing skills
  • must be organized and detail oriented
  • must be computer literate and have knowledge of specific software packages and search engines
  • proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook and Excel
  • must have excellent time management and organizational skills
  • must be able to handle multiple tasks
  • must be able to adapt to new responsibilities
  • must consistently maintain a professional demeanor while working with the general public
  • must be able to keep information confidential when working with staff, clients and providers
  • bilingual preferred (Spanish/English)

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • greet and direct visitors courteously and knowledgeably
  • monitor, control, screen and direct incoming telephone calls
  • respond to basic requests from the public
  • receive, sort, date stamp and distribute incoming mail
  • assist with scanning of incoming documents received via mail and fax
  • prepare and distribute correspondence and documents to staff
  • occasionally perform receptionist duties for the Health and Human Services Department Community Engagement Suite
  • perform miscellaneous other related duties as requested and assigned
