Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year mechanical work experience
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals
- Must be able to speak and understand English
- Ability to work the required shift schedule including holidays
- Must be able to pass drug screening
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must pass federal fingerprinting and security threat assessment
- Must obtain airport security badge
- Must be physically capable of performing the job duties which include standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or general education degree (GED)
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and basic mechanical schematics
- At least one year of mechanical work experience
- Ability to work scheduled shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays in a 24/7 operational environment
- Strong safety awareness and willingness to learn
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions involving standing, walking, bending, lifting heavy objects up to 100 pounds
Job Duties
- Work with a variety of tools and hand tools safely and properly, as well as utilize all appropriate safety and personal protective equipment
- Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks including cleaning conveyor and surrounding areas, removal of debris from conveyors, removal and replacement of conveyor covers for inspection and cleaning, and recognition of potential issues through auditory and visual inspection
- Diagnose equipment failures under the guidance of senior staff
- Make minor adjustments to ensure system functionality and reliability pertaining to electrical and mechanical components
- Clear and reset baggage handling system jams safely and efficiently
- Work safely in various locations including confined spaces, high spaces, dirty spaces, and areas with moving equipment and electricity
- Attend requested and required training, demonstrating a willingness to learn
- Follow and comply with company and federally established policies and procedures
- Complete safety and compliance training as required
