Job Requirements

  • HS graduate or equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • must be at least 21 years of age
  • ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patrons, employees, others
  • successful completion of background check prior to start date
  • knowledge of liquor laws
  • ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • physical ability to stock and clean bar area
  • availability to work varying shifts according to business volume

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patrons, employees, and others
  • previous bartending experience strongly desired
  • friendly and engaging interpersonal skills highly desired
  • HS graduate or equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience

Job Duties

  • Serve beverages at the Wexner Center for the Arts
  • prepare the bar work area and set up assigned bars
  • requisition and stock all necessary supplies including beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice, and produce
  • greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner
  • mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes
  • practice prudent portion control
  • maintain stock levels and cleanliness of the bar area
  • foster positive guest relations and create a favorable impression
  • adhere to state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations
  • check guests for proper identification
  • detect and act upon guest inebriation as trained
  • handle cash transactions, make change, verify validity of charges, and record sales
  • lock up and store all beverage products, food, equipment, deposits, and cash drops securely
  • perform general cleaning tasks to maintain health and safety standards
  • keep work area clean and organized
  • perform other duties as assigned
