Job Requirements
- Food safety certification
- Alcoholic beverage certification
- Several years of hospitality or private club experience
- Banquet events experience preferred
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical activities such as walking, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, stretching and twisting
- Ability to push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds
- Capable of handling hot and cold interior and outdoor environments
- Willingness to perform public speaking at meetings and events
- Availability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Several years of hospitality or private club experience
- Banquet events experience preferred
- Strong leadership and team supervision skills
- Knowledge of beverage inventory and control systems
- Familiarity with alcoholic beverage laws and regulations
- Experience in budget development and financial monitoring

- Ability to develop and implement training programs
- Proficiency in planning and executing promotional beverage activities

Job Duties
- Develop and maintain bar product and supplies inventory system for alcoholic beverages including wines, non-alcoholic beverages and mixers, glassware and paper and other bar supplies
- Plan promotional strategies and materials
- develop recipes to improve the beverage program for members and guests
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of bar areas, glassware and equipment through regular inspections
- Develop standard operating procedures to ensure that bars are set up and operated efficiently
- Maintain an adequate supply of liquors, wines, beer and other beverages with effective inventory management system
- Recruit, train, schedule and supervise bar personnel according to established club procedures
- Conduct employee reviews for beverage department personnel
- Maintain and keep current beverage-related training manuals
- Develop product and revenue control systems and procedures to help reduce theft
- Assure compliance with all laws applicable to beverage operations
- Collaborate with Food and Beverage Manager and Dining Room Manager to develop wine list
- Coordinate with Purchasing Department for procurement and receiving of beverage products
- Inspect to ensure sanitation, safety, energy management, and preventive maintenance programs are followed
- Develop the budget for Beverage Department and monitor financial information
- Develop and monitor labor forecasts and budgets
- Prepare financial records and reports as required
- Work with Accounting Department to ensure consistent record-keeping procedures
- Handle complaints from club members and guests related to Beverage Department
- Produce shift reports on member-related issues and cover counts
- Assist with private parties and food and beverage service when necessary
- Plan and develop training programs and professional development opportunities
- Keep current with changing member preferences and industry trends
- Conduct meetings with service staff and attend management meetings
- Schedule wine and beer samplings with distributors
- Monitor bar closing procedures and ensure area is secure
- Serve as bartender if needed
- Plan special wine promotions for members
- Ensure club policies for selling alcoholic beverages are consistently followed
- Serve as club opening or closing manager or manager on duty when necessary
- Maintain service log regarding notable member or guest behavior
- Schedule maintenance of draft beer tapping
- Complete other work assignments as requested by Clubhouse Manager
