Job Requirements
- Valid food safety certification
- Valid alcoholic beverage certification
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks including walking, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, stretching, twisting, or reaching
- Capability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds
- Tolerance for hot and cold interior and exterior environments
- Effective public speaking skills
- Willingness to work varied shifts due to 24/7 operational demands
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to club policies
- Ability to handle member and guest complaints professionally
Job Qualifications
- Several years of hospitality or private club experience
- Experience with banquet events preferred
- Food safety certification
- Alcoholic beverage certification
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of beverage inventory and cost control
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in budget management and financial reporting
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Job Duties
- Develop and maintain inventory system for alcoholic beverages, wines, non-alcoholic beverages, glassware, and bar supplies
- Plan promotional strategies and recipe development to enhance beverage program
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of bar areas, glassware, and equipment through inspections
- Develop standard operating procedures ensuring efficient bar setup and operations
- Recruit, train, schedule and supervise bar personnel per club procedures
- Conduct employee reviews for beverage department staff
- Manage beverage-related training manuals and update regularly
- Develop product and revenue control systems to reduce theft
- Ensure compliance with laws applicable to beverage operations
- Collaborate with Food and Beverage Manager and Dining Room Manager to develop wine list
- Coordinate with Purchasing Department for procurement and receiving of beverage products and supplies
- Inspect and implement club's sanitation, safety, energy management, and preventive maintenance programs related to beverage operation
- Develop and monitor budget and labor forecasts for Beverage Department
- Prepare financial records and reports and cooperate with Accounting Department
- Handle complaints related to Beverage Department
- Produce shift reports covering member-related issues and cover counts
- Assist with private parties and food and beverage service as needed
- Plan and develop training programs for beverage personnel
- Keep current with member preferences and beverage industry trends
- Conduct meetings with service staff
- Attend staff and management meetings
- Schedule wine and beer samplings with distributors
- Monitor bar closing procedures
- Serve as bartender if necessary
- Plan special wine promotions
- Enforce club's policies and procedures for selling alcoholic beverages
- Act as opening/closing manager or manager on duty as needed
- Maintain a service log of notable member or guest behavior
- Schedule maintenance of draft beer tapping
- Complete additional assignments requested by Clubhouse Manager
