Job Requirements

  • Completion of a Master’s degree in the field of instruction or a Bachelor’s degree in a hospitality-related field plus at least ten consecutive years of relevant professional experience
  • professional experience must be current, substantial in duration and responsibility, and directly linked to teaching field
  • increased expectation of substantial professional experience if Master’s degree is outside the teaching field
  • readiness to teach in person on campus
  • ability to work with diverse student populations
  • adherence to university policies
  • availability for student consultations

Job Qualifications

  • Completion of a Master’s degree in the field taught or a Bachelor’s degree in a hospitality-related discipline with substantial professional experience
  • significant duration of relevant professional experience with increasing levels of responsibility
  • substantial supervisory experience
  • ability to adapt to new instruction modes
  • sensitivity to diverse student populations
  • nationally recognized certificates or licenses relevant to the field (preferred)

Job Duties

  • Teach 3 or more credit hours
  • instruct courses in subject areas such as Wine Fundamentals, Beer and Spirits, Enology, Wines of the Old World, Wines of the New World, and Wine and Food Pairing
  • work and interact with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff
  • demonstrate ability to effectively infuse technology into coursework
  • be available for consultation with students
  • prepare course materials and lesson plans
  • grade student work and provide timely, constructive feedback
  • address student questions consistent with university and department policies
  • provide academic support to students as needed
  • comply with student evaluation and peer observation policies
