Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in food preparation or kitchen work preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Physical stamina to stand and move for extended periods
  • Capacity to lift and carry kitchen supplies as needed

Job Duties

  • Prepare appetizers, sandwiches, calzones, pizza, grilled, and pasta dishes according to Bertucci's specifications
  • Be knowledgeable in all behind-the-line kitchen areas to facilitate flexible scheduling
  • Rotate food, set-up and break-down stations, stock wood, and maintain the presentation of products
  • Clean utensils and general work area to maintain sanitation
  • Ensure the temperature of ovens, coolers, and freezers is accurate
  • Inspect stock levels and review prep sheets with the manager to establish daily prep list
  • Store, unpack, and retrieve food items in appropriate storage areas
  • Monitor and report malfunctioning equipment to maintain operational efficiency
  • Prepare food products according to safety policies with correct use of equipment and utensils
  • Maintain sanitary work area meeting State Health Department standards
  • Clean up spills as necessary to prevent accidents
  • Wipe immediate work area after food preparation
