Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of hospice philosophy and ethical conduct
- Ability to deliver grief counseling and coordinate volunteer services
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Valid background and health screenings for volunteer recruitment
- Willingness to participate in community outreach and events
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Theology, Divinity, or equivalent field strongly preferred
- Minimum of two years experience in grief, loss, or bereavement support preferred
- Experience in Social Services, Human Services, or Resource Management helpful
- Prior experience managing volunteer services or non-profit organizations is a plus
Job Duties
- Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team including development and implementation of plan of care
- Works with hospice social worker on pre-bereavement risk assessment and care plan development
- Develops and implements bereavement plans after patient death
- Supports bereavement needs of non-family caregivers
- Supervises volunteer recruitment, training, and performance
- Coordinates volunteer services to meet patient and family needs
- Develops and delivers grief support groups and memorial services
