Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of relevant culinary experience
  • ability to lift items up to 70 lbs
  • physical stamina for continuous standing and mobility
  • ability to work in temperatures ranging from -10 degrees to over 100 degrees
  • ability to communicate effectively with team members
  • ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures
  • willingness to adhere to kitchen cleaning policies

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of employment in a related culinary position
  • knowledge of cooking and kitchen practices and procedures
  • ability to perform non-repetitive analytical work
  • strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions

Job Duties

  • Check all items against the recipe cards
  • verify that use records are followed for all items served
  • ensure food is presented in an efficient, quality manner
  • monitor line set up prior to meal functions
  • monitor equipment maintenance and kitchen clean as you go policy
  • prepare food following recipe cards and production and portion standards
  • start food items prepared ahead of time respecting estimated needs
  • date and rotate food containers as per standard operating procedure
  • check pars for shift use and determine necessary preparation and line set up
  • note any out-of-stock items or shortages
  • assist in keeping buffet stocked
  • return unused food items properly stored and dated
  • assist in setting up plans to correct food cost problems
  • control food waste, loss, and usage per standard procedure
