Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- 1-2 years of relevant culinary experience
- ability to lift items up to 70 lbs
- physical stamina for continuous standing and mobility
- ability to work in temperatures ranging from -10 degrees to over 100 degrees
- ability to communicate effectively with team members
- ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- willingness to adhere to kitchen cleaning policies
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- 1-2 years of employment in a related culinary position
- knowledge of cooking and kitchen practices and procedures
- ability to perform non-repetitive analytical work
- strong communication skills both verbal and written
- ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
Job Duties
- Check all items against the recipe cards
- verify that use records are followed for all items served
- ensure food is presented in an efficient, quality manner
- monitor line set up prior to meal functions
- monitor equipment maintenance and kitchen clean as you go policy
- prepare food following recipe cards and production and portion standards
- start food items prepared ahead of time respecting estimated needs
- date and rotate food containers as per standard operating procedure
- check pars for shift use and determine necessary preparation and line set up
- note any out-of-stock items or shortages
- assist in keeping buffet stocked
- return unused food items properly stored and dated
- assist in setting up plans to correct food cost problems
- control food waste, loss, and usage per standard procedure
