Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Valid Iowa driver’s license
  • Qualification for chauffeur’s class D endorsement
  • Ability to work some daytime, mostly evening and weekend shifts
  • Physical ability to stand, push, pull, lift luggage and travel in indoor and outdoor environments with possible extreme temperatures
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to representing the college positively
  • Ability to assist guests with special needs
  • Must comply with supervisory required training

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Valid Iowa driver’s license with chauffeur’s class D endorsement
  • Strong communication skills
  • Professional appearance and attitude
  • Knowledge of the local area
  • Experience in hospitality preferred but not required
  • Ability to coach and nurture students

Job Duties

  • Greet incoming guests and escort them to their destination in the building
  • Transfer luggage, trunks, and packages to and from rooms, loading areas, vehicles, or transportation terminals, by hand or using baggage carts
  • Drive the hotel vehicles to transport guests as needed
  • Supply guests or travelers with directions, travel information, and other information such as available services and points of interest
  • Receive and mark baggage by completing and attaching claim checks
  • Assist physically challenged travelers and other guests with special needs
  • Deliver messages and run errands for guests
  • Explain the operation of room features such as locks, ventilation systems, and televisions
  • Keep sundry items clean, organized and stocked for guest purchases
  • Maintain clean, safe and fueled hotel vehicles
  • Maintain lobbies, public spaces and entrance areas for travelers or guests
  • Maintain compliance with required training as designated by supervisor
