Job Requirements
- Minimum age 18
- high school diploma or equivalent
- completion of company orientation and food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment performing detailed and precise tasks
- ability to work with customers staying attentive to their needs
- ability to perform department-specific physical tasks such as reaching, grasping, standing, walking, bending, lifting as specified
- ability to lift and manage weights up to company safety limits with assistance if needed

Job Duties
- Provides superior customer service
- takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answers customer questions regarding products
- assists them with selections
- prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- assists in technical areas as needed such as basic set-up and clean-up processes
- uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- cleans and sanitizes display cases
- operates and maintains equipment properly
- complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- complies with department and store operating procedures
- performs department-specific duties such as recording production and shrink in bakery
- taking care of service counter customers in deli
- serving and packaging products in prepared foods
- handling inventory management processes as required
- ensuring catering orders are ready for pickup when applicable
- performing all sanitation and maintenance tasks for deli slicers
